I'm on several lists one of which is specifically for the BMW E30 M3. Like
all cars, it has its share of design faults. The alternator has rubber mount
bushings to isolate it from vibration. The bushings deteriorate, the
alternator goes cockeyed, you get the picture. So there is a thread on the
list about the best bushings to use to which a person posts the following
reply;
"I replaced my Bosch alternator with a rebuilt Lucas high output 120 amp
Alternator with solid mounts. No more bushings to deal with."
OK, so anyone else see the irony here?
