Antenna Placement

Is there a correct place to put the antenna on a 76 TR6.
The fenders are new so I have no reference point.
I have lots of pictures of cars and the antennas are everywhere from rear
deck to scuttle to fenders.
Before I pick up a drill - my hand is shaking as I speak - could I get some
input from the group.
