Absitively !

That's a good check for tight spokes, yes. However, the wheel should also
be checked for trueness. You can get a pretty good idea if it's out of true
by just jacking the car up and spinning the wheel while it's still mounted.
Watch the rim, not right at the edge (which is frequently beat up and
doesn't hurt anything) but at the corner near where the outer spokes are

The good thing about spokes is that you can make them longer again. The bad
thing is they make lousy coffee tables.
