I made the change 2 years ago to silicone. I also put it in the clutch
clinder. It hasn't required changing anything. Some have this notion that
it requires seal changing. I think its more due to a 30 year or older part
wearing out due to old age.
I did change the master cylinder , but it had a slight leak before i made
the change to dot 5, and it was an antique.
