It almost certainly would be a Negative Ground car. Even if it wasn't, there is 
little or NO risk in jumping it with another Negative Ground car, or in 
connecting your battery with Negative Ground. If there were a radio connected, 
or any other such accessory that is polarity sensitive, I would make sure to 
disconnect those. But those are the only items that might be harmed. Otherwise, 
at worst the dynamo will not charge (but should not be harmed and could be 
"repolarized").

The same way as you would jump-start any other car: Ensure that positive is 
connected to positive and negative to negative. You might consider making one 
of the connections on the Herald to a good ground rather than to the battery 
terminal.
