i've had my 6 repainted twice in the last 3 years (don't ask!).
1st paint job...
moderate body work
replacement of driver's floor pan
clear and base coat
i supplied the paint
body shell was delivered to paint shop off chassis
cost--$4000, crap job that lasted about 3 months.
2nd paint job....
body on chassis
body completely sandblasted
minimal body work
base and clear coat
all paint supplied by painter
cost--$4000, so far so good, has "lifetime" warranty
both jobs re-sprayed the car the original brg.
