Terry, have you tried Newtronic Systems ?

They may be willing to do a repair/exchange on your module for less than the
price of a new unit.

Most US distributors now carry the Crane unit (was Allison), which is
functionally very similar to the Piranha/Newtronic.  However, you'd probably
have to change the pickup to switch to the Crane.
