I'm installing the new oil pressure hose (from Moss) to replace the one that
last week leaked a few quarts of oil in a 1 1/4 mile stripe from the grocery
store to my garage. When I install the new pipe, do I need to "bleed" the air
from the pipe to the gauge?

And thanks to Randall, Dave Massey, Joe (the Bro), and Chris Eck for giving my
leaking flexible oil pressure hose a name. Well, Chris only provided comic
relief so he gets an honorable mention. Moss calls it "HOSE, oil pressure", TRF
calls it "PIPE, Flex., Oil Press Gauge", and other sources call it an "oil
pressure flex-line". The part is listed in Moss for TR2 through early TR4, so if
you have a later TR4 you may need a different part -- a nylon pipe from the
metal pipe mounted to the block to the gauge.

I now know why, in the Aug/Sept British Car magazine, "oil pressure flex-line"
was the [first] item in the engine section for spares you ought to carry for
long distance touring.
