Randall, you were right, the overdrive unit (A-type) is toast.  Pretty much
all, and I mean all of the overdrive internals with the exception of the
main shaft need to be replaced.

So if anyone knows where I can get the parts, please let me know.

IMO you're talking major rebuild.  Weak direct clutch in the OD, plus a
sprag clutch in fragments, would be my guess.

Likeliest explanation for the pushrods is sticking valves, perhaps caused by
not reaming the valve guides large enough during the rebuild.  Don't recall
the number offhand, but the phosphor bronze guides commonly sold today have
to be reamed after installation, and to a slightly larger size than the old
cast iron guides (which normally did not have to be reamed).
