As I recall, it stands for Pressure Differential Warning Actuator.  It's the
gizmo that lights the 'brake' light on the dash, if half of the dual
hydraulic system to the brakes fails.  It's usually mounted near, but below
the brake master cylinder, and has 4 pipes and a wire attached to it.
Roughly the shape of an 'H' (with very short arms).
