Darrell,

I don't own a TR4 but here's an idea for thought nevertheless.....could you 
get the amount of room you need for the header by replacing the motor mounts 
with new?

New motor mounts might actually place the engine at a different and hopefully 
better if only slightly angle (especially if your current mounts are worn) 
allowing the headers to clear the frame rail without cutting....
