At the risk of upsetting people about NFI, this post has nothing to do
with 'kickbacks,' 'profit shares,' 'bribes' or anything of that ilk.
Some Triumph enthusiasts outside the UK may have heard of a specialist
parts supplier by name of Mick Dolphin? He advertises widely in UK
club magazines and I've got to know him well over the last few years.
I visited him today at his home for some unobtanium and was given a
guided tour of his 'parts warehouse.' Mick specialises in NOS
(Stanpart and Unipart) - and has he got parts? Hell, it's an Aladdins
Cave of stuff and how he manages to find it, I have no idea. Talk
about *high density storage*!!!!!!!! Not only is it dense, it's pretty
high as well! He's now reached what is probably best described as
*critical mass* in terms of where to put stuff and is building an
extension on his garage to find more space. If that wasn't enough,
he's also attending autojumbles and fairs, rebuilding a Spitfire, 2000
and an XJ6 Jaguar - simultaneously. A good bloke, as straight as a die
and thoroughly reliable. Only thing is he doesn't take credit cards in
payment and I can't say I blame him. If nothing else, I'm uncertain if
he's got space for the counterfoils!
His email and web URL are mickdolphin@tinyworld.co.uk and
www.mickdolphin.co.uk
Try him if you get stuck! From what I saw, he's now #1 as a preferred
supplier.
