Can I ask a timing question without getting into the 180 degree debate...

Silly question but: How am I supposed to set the timing on my 3 without any
gradient marks on the pulley? There's a small hole punched in the pulley
that I assume is TDC, and there's a metal tab coming from the block that's
cut at an angle to make a point. But without any other tick marks on the
pulley or marker how do I tell if I'm close to the spec offset from TDC?
