A bit late now, but at least in theory a 'dry charged' battery should have a
near-infinite shelf life.  Of course, even after you add electrolyte it's
still an 80's (or whenever) technology battery, but it should be just as
good now as then.

However, battery acid is a lot harder to buy now (outside of a battery) than
it used to be.  Most of my local parts stores no longer carry it.
