Yes I have and I am about to do it again on another one.
If your piping is not done, you can do it wrapping the vinyl aroung a
hardware store string or a electric wire of the correct diameter. You
will need a 2" stip of vinyl to do it. The upholstery wholesale place
could not sell me less than their big roll of upholstery string, so I
did not take it. You can do the piping on a regular sewing machine,
using the one-sided foot to get the needle close enough to the
string.

Cutting the vinly is just a matter of being careful enough and taking
templates if you feel like it.

Gluing is a bit more tricky. You want to have a thin layer of foam to
absorb minor ripples in the body. I use regular headliner for this.
Glue 2 parts on both sides of the piping but leave a thin grove where
the piping is going to sit or it is going to bulge. Use top quality
contact cement. Then , glue the vertical part of the vinyl cover
first and then, unroll the top panel on the top of the wheel arch so
as to maintain the vinyl under tension all the time and insure it's
not going to have ripples.

Et voila, merci M'sieur'dames!

NB: I remember the 1st one was kinda hard...

Listers,

Has someone covered their wheel arches with vinyl themselves? The
one on
the inside of the cockpit?

Any instructions, gotchas etc?

Thanks
