woven multi-stranded wire, flexible and with a thin heat shrink should do
the trick. (available on a spool at electronics stores.)

I think you are referring to "Solder Wick" which is fairly fine woven wire.
Since it is a ground link the heatshrink would not be necessary. The OE
part was uninsulated.
