The Redline oil that Bill Pugh mentioned is a full synthetic gear oil.
I use Valvoline synthetic gear oil in my TR3A daily driver's diff, seems to
work OK, but then the diff was on it's last legs 100,000 miles ago, it's
still wobbly.  (Rebuild planned Real Soon Now <g>)

BTW, I still believe in changing oil (both motor and gear) even with
synthetic.  The oil itself may not wear out, but the additives do.  There's
also an inevitable buildup of contaminants, changing the oil is the only way
to reduce them.

I recall when Mobil 1 first came out, they talked some fleet operator into
putting Mobil 1 into a bunch of new cars and then not changing it.  The test
was discontinued due to excessive oil burning ...
