I transplanted a 1500 drive train into a 1296
Spitfire. After the job was done I ended up with a
bad vibration. I changed the rear end thinking that
may have been the problem; no luck. Rebalanced the
driveshaft not once but twice; no luck. (I installed
a new clutch and pressure plate.) Has anyone ever
had a problem with a clutch set up being the cause
of a vibration? I have not changed it yet. The 1500
Spitfire was vibration free. I'm running out of
ideas. It is not the tires. They are new and
balanced properly. (checked that twice) It seems as
if the vibration increases with speed. When you
slip the car into neutral and coast it apppears to
go away. Or at least I think it does. I haven't got
a long enough hill to be 100% sure.
Any ideas will be welcomed.
Thanks.
