The obvious reason that the louvers were not included in the Mk3 was because
of that new and improved ventilation system in the sales brochures......and
therefore heat dissipation was not a concern. Right.

I do not see why not. We had a club member recently pay some local craftsmen
to put louvers in his MK3 Spit. Haven't seen it yet but he is quite pleased
how it turned out
