I have heard that one can source these in polyurethane from fairly standard
auto parts supply stores. What do you need to specify, and is this true???
Also, on my 3a, inside the gaiter (aka "boot") there was an odd shaped
washer which I think was aluminium. It was quite mangled however so I
cannot tell its original function. Does it snap over the ridge? Why does it
need to be there at all?
Note these are A&A brand tie rod ends, fwiw.
