Almost there...
What we're really dealing with here is *energy*, not force, not momentum.
The brakes/tires/etc. must convert the total energy into heat.  The total 
energy is:
  e = 1/2mv^2   ("one-half em vee squared")
If the mass is the same, and the velocity (v) is the same, the amount of 
energy is the same...
I'll not get into the specifics; by keeping the total energy in mind you 
can figure it out easily.
