When you said inches I read SAE.  When I hold up my 1/4 whitworth wrench
next to my 1/4 SAE wrench there is no resemblance.

On the otherhand, if your TR4 has overdrive the lockout switches DO have
metric thread.

And the TR7/8 is half and half.
