For those who asked "How was British Invasion this year?" -- here is a short
answer.
This was my fourth trip up there (first time registering the TR though), and
it rained three out of four times! Friday was a rainy day. The show field
was a little bit muddy and cows had been grazing there, so you were likely
to step in other stuff beside mud. Saturday was partly drizzly, mostly
cloudy, and the sun even popped out a few times. Sunday was gorgeous and
sunny.
The cars were beautiful, but I think that there were fewer there then I've
seen in the past because of the weather forecast. Saw some listers too --
Brian Sanborn won first prize with his red TR4. I told several non-listers
about this great resource and showed them the address on my TR list window
sticker, so we may have a couple of new contributors soon.
I had fun helping a guy with a Lotus Elan bleed his clutch slave cylinder in
my motel parking lot. Only car nuts like us could call that fun.
I'll be there next year for sure. Gotta go out now and hose off all the mud
and manure from the wheel wells.
