I don't know how it is done, but it is possible as I have 3 complete rearend
setups sitting in my storage shed. And boy are they heavy... and
awkward...

Hello Listers:
Anyone have experience with changing the diff in a 3? Is it possible to get
the diff out of the car and back in with the brake backing plates still on
the diff assembly?
If not, what is involved in gettng the brake backing plates off the diff
assembly? The axles have to be pulled - does this involve the dreaded
"churchill tool", or do the axles come out fairly readily? This is for a
Girling brake equipped 3A.

Many thanks in advance for any insights or personal experiences.

Angelo Graham
