I never post so many of you won't recognize me (TR4 owner CT1272L). I'm one
of those Boeing technical people walking the picket line the last few
weeks. Not the place I expected any Triumph action, but there it was! While
on the picket line one night the discussion turned from badmouthing our
employer to cars. When my picket captain casually mentions he's a Triumph
owner. I ask what model, he replies "TR2". He goes on to inform me that he
believes it to be one of the earliest 2's in the US, body no. 175. He also
informs me he brought it to the US from Switzerland and was told at the
time of purchase that it had a bit of a racing pedigree, some French
competition I don't recall now what it was. He tells me he's thinking about
selling. It's mechanically and structurally gone thru, needs interior work
and possibly brake work (been sitting a spell). Any serious interest let me
know and I'll try to get some contact info for you. BTW the car is in
Washington State. As if an early TR2 wasn't action enough, he tells me he
has TR6 as well. The next evening we're on the line again when what should
go by but a TR7 coupe on the hook. Then a day later I see the front half of
a TR7 convertible on flatbed, weird!
