This could be..  I don't have an example in the garage anymore and was
working from memory...  They are evenly spaced - I do remember that...  Can
someone else confirm inboard/outboard?

On mine the lift-the-dot peg is on the inboard side.  I can't swear this is
original but if mounted this way the pegs in each direction are evenly
spaced (about 6¼" apart) which looks right to me.
