Ken,

I have used toothpaste in the past to remove surface scratches from
plexiglass.  Its a cleaner with a mild abrasive, (and no ammonia, I hope.)
I suppose a paste made up with baking soda would also work.  If the
scratches are too deep, you may have to use a rouge compound and a buffing
wheel.
