spit floors?

I just got my new spit floors today and would like some suggestions on
what to paint them with.
On the bottom and top.  I was thinking of giving it all a coat of body
colo(u)r   :P    then
a coat of undercoating (the rubberizing stuff)
also have new rockers coming soon and plan on putting Rocker panel
coating on it
I think that was a dealer option.  My friend has a good cond surviving
Mk1 that has
the rocker spray on it; I think thats why it survived...
