The clutch fork is mounted on the cross shaft with a taper pin. This pin
often shears resulting in excessive play. That alone can make good
hydraulics act bad. Also. the movement of the fork is radiated through the
cross shaft to the clutch pushrod. It is my suspicion that this unwanted
vibration allows small amounts of air to be sucked in past the seal in a
marginal (internal scars) slave cylinder. Of course, it simply could just be
that you never got all the air out of the system.
