Having 3 almost grown teenagers, a son and 2 daughters, the events in
Colorado have hit very close to me. Last night, I sat and watched the
interview with a father and son who survived the shootings. He said
through tears that all his son wants right now are hugs. There's a
lesson in that for all of us. It speaks to priorities in our lives and
relationships.
For me I got up from the chair, hugged my son, told him I loved him and
was glad he was my son. (What 15 year old boy wants a hug from his
dad?)
Sometimes we need a reality check on our priorities.
