Bob - The check straps on Spits are, if I recall correctly, identical.
On my old Spit, the rivets were not flush either. I wouldn't worry
about it, so long as the heads do not strike the leading edge of the
door when it is closed.

I am replacing my checkstraps and discovered that where it is riveted to the
body both riverts are not flush to the door jam. (I hope I have explained that
correctly) Are both the rivets supposed to be flush to the door jam? Thanks,
