Re:tr-4 speedo cables

Hello,
  My brother had a problem whith needle bounce in his '64 tr-4. he found
that by enlarging the radius of the bends (don't kink the cable?) it
cured the problem.
  Last week the cable broke! Any sugestions on how to change the cable
without removing the center console? (whole interior)
