I recently pulled the head off my '76 TR6 and noticed something odd. In the
outside wall of the engine block in the holes where the lifters (tappets)
are some chips. Some of them look kind of rough. Is this normal? What causes
this?

Also are their any differenceds between the engine blocks in different year
TR6's? If so what?
