I have recently noticed something with the hood release cables which puzzles
me about the RHS cars -- particularly TR6s.

On LHS cars, like mine, the hood release cable is routed so that it is
mounted on the left side scuttle (?). The cable makes a long journey to this
destination with several turns along the way.

I always thought that on RHS drive cars (steering wheel on the right side of
the car), the cable would take the shorter route and end up on the right
side scuttle. This way there would only be one (gradual at that) turn
required in the cable and it would be much shorter than the LHS cars.

However, a few pictures of RHS TR6s lead me to think that their cable
routing is not like I thought. The cable makes an immediate loop back
towards the battery and seems to go toward the left side of the engine bay.
Two examples are:

Can anyone with a RHS car describe to me the routing of the hood release
cable and where it ends up in the car?

Thanks.
