Greg:

I have only had experience in adding an oil cooler to my Kawasaki
motorcycle, however, I learned a couple of points that may be of interest.
Firstly, the additional oil needed will be enough to fill the supply/return
lines and the small radiator itself. I had no way to determine this except
to bring the bike to operating temp and then check the oil level after
allowing everything to settle. If my memory serves me, it was about an
additional 1/2 quart on a 2 quart crankcase.

Secondly, I installed an in-line thermostat that will not allow the oil to
be cooled until reaching a certain temperature. This ensures that the oil
will not become too thick on a cool day by running through the radiator. I
would really recommend this as a good addition to an oil cooler. Mine
thermostat was an add-on offered by the cooler company.

Good luck,
