In my banks of archived data, I seem to have neglected one of the most
favorite "recurring themes"- tire choice. Definitely FAQ material!

I'm no longer in the hunt myself, as the local tire guy got a *real nice*
deal for me on a set of 4 slightly used 165SR15s for the TR4. But I still
need to fill in the blanks in the FAQ.

Here's what's missing:

Car Stock tire wheel width Closest modern
                        Disc Wire size
-----------------------------------------------------------
TR2-TR4 165-15 4" 4.5" 205-60-15 (???)
TR250 ? 4.5" ? ???
TR6 185-15 5.5" ? ???
TR7/8 ???-13 ? ? ???
Spit/herald 165-13 ? ? 155-80R13 (pls confirm)

I have absolutely not data on the Vitesse, Acclaim, Mayflower, Stag, GT6,
Dolomite, and any of the pre-war cars. Perhaps I should find out what the
Standard 8 and 10 use too?

As for "closest modern size", I'm looking for the size tire most commonly
available that is the same width and diameter as the origninal.

Thanks,
-Malcolm
