Completely new ignition system...new crane electronic ignition, wires,
plugs, cap, rotor, etc. As for temperature: I was careful to be certain
that my temp reading was the same as it was when we shop tested it. A
loner egr would mean also a loner exhaust manifold and the cat.
converter would mean doing some significant exhaust work, since my car
is set up with headers. The waiver means that should a certified
emission specialist in this state sign a form saying that all pollution
control devices are on the car and are operational, but the car still
does not meet minimum standards, after spending something like a hundred
bucks attempting the fix the problem, then the car can be waived and
licensed. However, should you dare remove any one of those devices,
then you are damned to a car-less existance, and to hell with you.
Whoever the politicians were that passed this bit of legislation deserve
a fate far worse than I can legally describe here on the net!
It reminds me of when auto insurance became mandated by the state some
twenty years ago or so. The insurance industry lobbied and manipulated
with a large selling slogan that read, should insurance be mandatory,
then rates will go down across the board. Guess what, insurance rates
have done nothing but skyrocket out of control since. Then there's the
helmet law...oops, sorry, this is the Triumph auto list, not motorcycle
list.... :-)
