Many thanks to Sam Gentry, Ed Hamilton, Larry Zink and Michael Porter for
the feedback on the disc thickness question.
I went and had a look at the disc as soon as I had read the messages on
e-mail, and found the following:
1DA20041 and 2L08304. Some of the numbers are a little unclear, but I was
reluctant to try and clean them any further except for a little hand wire
brushing. (It's 11.30 pm and though I have very tolerant neighbours, they
will probably object to any machine operated cleaning). I will have a closer
look in daylight tomorrow.
I couldn't find any other numbers on the disc, but as advised, it might be
better to take it to a brake specialist and let him decide if it can be
skimmed or not.
