David,

I had the same problem removing the windshield from a TR-3B. Not having a
screwdriver wide enough for those large screw heads, I made my own by
grinding down a file and retempering it. With that, I was able to get 3 of
the 4 out. I thought they were going to be dzus fasteners, but they turned
out to be just plain screws. Yours may be also. Check Moss or TRF
catalog. The 4th one was a dog. I finally got it out by drilling two 1/8
inch holes in the head, one on each side of the slot. I was then able to
put a large pair of needle-nose pliers in the holes and put an adjustable
wrench on the pliers right close to the screw for leverage. It came right
out. Replacement screws are readily available, so don't worry about
ruining the old ones.

Good luck,

Sumner Weisman
63 TR-3B
