Terry,
I bought a chrome Pacesetter for my Mk1 with a 1500 in it. The frame on
the 1500's has been modified slightly to provide more clearance for the
manifold and lead pipe, so I think it would be an even better fit on
your car. The only clearance problems I have had is with one of the
bolts that attach the lower A frame of the suspension. It was too long
and contacted the collector box. I took out the trusty hack saw and
made a little modification and it fits well now.
Pacesetter also makes a steel (non chrome) version of the same header.
