I was once sworn to secrecy about this, but since it's just us I'll let you in
on it. You should be looking in East Tennessee. Check Knoxville (Univ of
Tenn), Johnson City (ETSU), Kingsport and Bristol (Bristol motor speedway).
I've worked consulting projects throughout the area I can attest to the fact
that it meets all your criteria, including really nice people. Also, no state
income tax either. If I wasn't so firmly attached to Jacksonville for
business I'd probably be there full time too.
