Remove the bearing caps one by one and make sure none of the shells have
spun in their mountings.  You may also want to try trading bearings (but
NOT bearing caps!) around.  The shinier ones are binding, trade them with
dull ones.

Did you ensure that the caps correspond to the correct bearings (same
order as teardown...?)  If they are not correct the bearing will be
compressed out-of-round-- caps are machined after they've been bolted in
to ensure roundness.
