Steering ratios

Someone (sorry, I forgot who) recently asked about the steering
ratios of old vs new Spitfires as compared to GT-6's (the Spits
had faster steering).  Anyway, I seem to recall that Heralds had
even faster steering.  Is there any truth to this, or am I completely
off base.
