i got the head off the 1147 '67 spit and there was a bent valve in number
one cylinder that didn't appear to damage any of the lower unit.... there is
a gash in the top of the piston, i'm going to rebuild the head and put it
back together since i really do not need to put alot of money into an
1147... i'm planning on rebuilding my 1300 to put in later.....in the
meantime i need to replace the sheetmetal on the 6 i know it bolts off which
i is great i think i might use the sawsall to cut the panel first and then
unbolt, any experiences? ... i see the panels are sealed with some sort of
bondo and i'm unsure about getting panels off clean to replace. by the way i
steamed the dash and then the varnish chipped off by sliding an exacto knife
under the varnish i was very careful and the veneer is not marked up now i'm
going to sand it and re-stain and poly-urethene.geo
