Spit Ignition II

I spent some more time poking about and have now definitely found the 
source of the problem.The paddle that fits into the switch doesn't 
seem to be connected to my turning the key. Anyone encountered this 
before? Also any hints on dealing with those nifty sheared bolts on 
the steering lock would be appreciated.
