Bob,

At the risk of getting involved in another of the "flame wars",
I must take a stance on this. I have two daughters, ages 6 and 3. I
would no more use offensive vulgarities around them than I would your
young impressionable relatives.

My daughters have been brought up by my wife and I to know
what these words are and that the use of these words is not permitted
in our household. Furthermore, my girls know that they should walk away
from people using language like this, that either they are hearing a
conversation
not intended for them, or they should not be associating with the kind of
people
who use this language. They never question what the individual words mean,
because they know those words are just bad words.

However, my daughters are not on this list. I AM. I would tell anyone
in a like situation as my girls, that there may be language used in ADULT
conversation, that while maybe not the most descriptive, certainly add color
and flair to the topic at hand. I note, as another lister here did, that if
one
wrenches on his/her own LBC, the odds are he/she has used such "colorful"
language.

I don't know what your situation is, but it sounds like you might be
hearing a conversation that you should just walk away from. Could be this list
just isn't right for you. I rarely see language that offends me to this
distraction,
but then, I'm not you. Could be I've just become desensitized to it all, but
then
I live in an America where the President of the United States doesn't even think
oral sex constitutes a sexual relation. GO FIGURE !

It's the heavy handed censorship "nazis" who will eventually restrict all
other forms of media to the mindless pablum found on NPR and the
"Tom Brokaw" style evening news shows,

...but I'll be god damned if they will take away my right to say SH*T, F%$K,
P*SS
or any of the other seven blessed curse words here on the net!

(ps. I am going to resist the OBVIOUS one liners with
regard to your name, but it's gonna be tough)

Climbing down off of my soapbox now, the medication having taken full effect

What some contributors to this list need more than a spell checker is a
vulgarity checker to eliminate the use of offensive language. If somebody
wants to refer to himself as an a--h----, as was recently the case, let him
do so off line.
