Brake Rotor

I'm not sure I clearly understand the text on the brake rotors.  It
states:  "Min Disc Thickness .325 Ins. with .230 Ins. Thickness of Pad &
Back Plate Ass'y."
The rotor in question is .318 and the machine shop (where I took it to
be trued up) is of the opinion that it is undersize.  To me, this rotor
is fairly "meaty".  Upon reflecting on it, I wonder if the text above
means .325 (as measured on the vehicle for inspection purposes).  This
would have to include the back plate -- as you couldn't get a caliper on
the disc alone, due to the shallow clearance between the disc and back
plate.
Assuming I'm all wet and the above is a bit of a stretch, then I'm
currently in the market for one front rotor for an '80 spitfire.
