Will (and others),
It depends on what year of Spitfire your talking about but unless you have
a fairly early Spitfire (pre 70) the parts are no different than the
Spitfire, and in fact the Spitfire differentials from '76 on are actually
stronger than the GT6 (and Spitfires) before 1976.  The carrier was
strengthened slightly around the spider gear area (and I think, but don't
quote me on this, but it was because the early TR7 used the same internals
and required a little more strength in that area), but this is the only
real difference in strength.  A lot of people (wrongly) assume that the GT6
is a stronger diff than the Spitfire,  and to some extent it's true in that
the GT had the stronger diff from 67 till 71, but after that the diff's all
shared the same internals, with slightly different gearing and carrier
bearing changes.  So if you've got a '77 diff, you have one of the
*strongest* of the small chassis Triumph differentials!
