     Hello all,

The situation is this: a friend's 81 Spitfire has both a rear sway bar
and a sports exhaust system. The exhaust is one that has an oval
muffler 'can' in the centre of the car, oriented lengthwise, with 2
chromed tips extending out past the rear. The sway bar is attached to
the frame extensions close to the end of the car.

He had both setup on the car when he had the big black rubber bumpers
on it, and the chrome tips just poked past the end of the bumper. He
is now putting on the earlier chromed bumpers, and finds that either
the exhaust tips extend WAY past the end of the car OR the muffler
     fouls on the sway bar.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Does anyone have a line on a
different muffler (with cool tips) that might fit this application?
Who has the secret for a peanut butter that doesn't stick to the roof
of your mouth? (OK, it's Friday afternoon after a long week)

Any and all advice is appreciated.

     Michael
