Scott, I used a short piece of copper tubing. I don't recall the
dimensions but if you take the pump and valves to a plumbing/hardware
store you should be able to match it up. I think 1/2" OD was the right
size. Th tubing is thin so it will fit on the valve without binding in
the pump body. Also it is soft so using it as a drift should be safe.

I think it is important to get the valves seated properly though so
regardless of how you do it, make sure it gets done.
